FLXcalendar is made by a local for other locals (and folks who want to become a local).

FLXcalendar was created by Corning native, Amelia FH Cueva, and was launched during the first week of lockdown in March 2020. Like most folks, Amelia thought that if she could just hunker down and post virtual events for a few weeks until everything blew over, the calendar could then hit the ground running. Five years and over 13,000 events later, FLXcalendar is the most comprehensive events listing for the Southern Finger Lakes. #flxcalendar.

How It Works

Traditional online events calendars rely on you to submit your event. However, this means the quality & quantity of events can be inconsistent and incomplete. Not everyone has the time, energy, or marketing team to upload each event, one at a time, to each online calendar in the area. (Let alone in different formats with different requirements for each online calendar.)

Instead, every week, Amelia scours the internet, hunting for events, posting any event that catches her eye. She also has a spreadsheet listing over 250 local organizations and businesses (most of them nonprofits) that she checks once a month.

Because one person is compiling event information, FLXcalendar consistently lists 250+ events per month (on average)--sometimes as many as 400 over busy months! And because Amelia is a Finger Lakes native and resident for many years, she is an area expert who is connected and familiar with many of the best events in the area.

The Calendar's Region

Featuring events for Corning, Elmira, Hammondsport, Horseheads, Ithaca, Owego, Penn Yan, Watkins Glen, and the areas around Keuka and Seneca lakes.

Specifically, Chemung, Steuben, Schuyler, Yates, Seneca, Tompkins, and Tioga Counties.

Although anyone can submit an event for approval (see below), check the calendar first to see if Amelia has already posted your event.

Event submissions will be added during normal business hours. Please allow 24 - 48 hours.

*Important note: classes, workshops, and multi-month exhibitions overload the calendar too easily, so special one-day or one-weekend only events are preferred & prioritized. Amelia reserves the right to post or not post events at her discretion. Amelia is also not liable for completeness or accuracy of the event information that she finds and posts.
